Do I have To Buy WOW to play it?

Can i just use the trial version of the game and then continue playin the game ( paying each month of course)?...or can i just use my friend's wow dishes to install the game then creat my own account?...i want to play wow but it just seen unreasonable that i have to buy the game and then pay each month to play....THanks for all the Answers!!!
