Does this qualify as a date?

I go to college, but I have christmas break. Anyway, this guy friend from high school wanted to hang out and i didn't have any objections. We are having dinner and then "hanging out" tomorrow. He wanted to pick me up from my house. Is this a date or just a friend get together? What should I wear and how should i handle the situation?
