Swine Flu Finished? Was it all blown out of proportion, Or did the precautions actually stop it?

I was listening to my friend's conversation the other day (He was talking to this other guy) and the guy mentioned how the swine flu was blown way out of proportion just to scare the public and stuff, But then my friend said well maybe it wasn't, Maybe all the stuff they did (closing schools, boarders, Warning against travel to Mexico) actually prevented a large scale epidemic. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this subject and idea. Thanks
