Homemade musical instrument?

this is for a physics project in 8th grade science thats due tomorrow but i might stay home because i made these chimes that dont work at all, really. it has to be able to change tune pitch, etc and i have to play a song so it cant be just like a maraca or something. i also need easy ideas because i cnat work with wood or metal easily.
