Why does the Christian faith not work with the spanish holiday "Dia de los Muertos"?

The day of the dead is not a Christian festivity. Faith can work any time it is applied properly. In the New Testament, Jesus was asked by someone if he could go bury his parent before he joined up with Jesus. Jesus replied " let the dead bury the dead".
