How do I not let my husband's "one-upmanship" not bother me?

Recently my husband and I were each diagnosed with something. Me, an ulcer, and him, a skin condition. He told me he'd gladly trade my ulcer for his skin condition which made me a bit upset. He does this often. I rarely complain about my ailments but once in a while when I do, his immediate comment is "how do you think I feel with (insert pain here)?" Or he'll say "I had that and mine was a lot worse because (insert reason his was worse than mine and that I have no reason to complain). It's like it's all about him. How does he know how I feel? I don't downplay his discomforts. Also, one night I became ill and was up most of the night. We think it was due to my ulcer etc. I finally got to sleep around 3 a.m. When I got up, I was feeling better but just like I was getting over a bad flu. He was working outside and he asked me to come and help him lift several heavy items (wood and drywall). I started to tell him that I wasn't feeling well yet but he started to get upset saying he couldn't lift everything by himself. So I went and helped him fuming silently to myself. If he wasn't well, he would never do anything he wouldn't want to, and I wouldn't expect him to either. I would respect him not feeling able to do it. Why doesn't he treat me the same way? Argh, so tired of this and not feeling like an equal to him. I don't feel like I even matter and that it's all about him all the time.

Training my dog to heel properly?

I relly don't think you need to go straight to a prong. I taught my dogs OFF LEASH to heel with food. I started with the dog sitting in heel position. I would give the command to heel- and take ONE step. Keeping their attention with the food. I was able to slowly do away with the food, as this became muscle memory. I went from 1 step to 2. From 2 to 4, etc. When doing longer heeling sequences, I used either a hot dog, or string cheese, and the dog was allowed to nibble as long as it was in heel position. When out of position, the food went away. Worked like a charm for me! My dogs are smart enough to know when the prong is on, and when it's not. So, by reinforcing the behavior I wanted, I didn't ahve to rely on the prong.

I'm just curious...my school district has been having financial problems for quite some time and now, they have let all of our aides go. Most elementary schools (Not sure about high schools) are down to two sped teachers that float, spending about 30 minutes per clroom. The problem is, we are still an inclusion district. Most teachers in the school I am in have several included students, yet absolutely no help. (The sped teacher can only visit those students with severe disabilities. I have 6 kids with an IEP, but no one comes to work with them). My question is...are we the only ones, or is this a nationwide problem? I posted a question on here several weeks ago about not liking inclusion and got lots of angry answers from teachers who told me to stop whining because at least aides are provided and such. 1991 Jeep Cherokee heater is blowing steam/smoke?

The water was coming from an area near the roof/chimney. I talked to the neighbor and she told me that this house had being having problems with the chimney for years, and it wasn't the first time that it happened. She told me that the previous owners had plans to fix it before they sell it. The bank took possession of the house and knew about the problem. They never told me about this when I bought it. They keep it in secret. The patched and painted the walls and ceilings, so it can not be noticed in an inspection. Now it is going to cost me thousands of dollars to fix it. The water was running inside the walls and ceilings for years. The water was coming out from the light fixtures like in a faucet! If we did not have the hard rain that we had 2 weeks ago, I never was going to find out about this. I would like to know if I can make the bank to paid for the repairs, because they knew about it and they didn't tell me about. I'm not sure what anesthetics your vet used, but chances are it was the drugs. Every animal burns off the various anesthetics/gesics at different times. He was probably still a little tipsy from the surgery. Is he on pain medication? They can be narcotics and obviously cause a change in behavior while helping with post surgical pain. Your vet should have really gone over all this with you when you picked him up after surgery. If he is still acting odd, I would give your vet a call and let them know what is going on. At least get some answers.

You can also get a thin foam sheeting that you cut roll out, cut to shape, and tape together with packing tape to make bigger sizes as an underlayment. This provides a moisture barrier, sound dampening, and a slight bit of give to make it less fatiguing to stand on the floor for a long time. They installed this when I had laminate put into my kitchen several years ago. It was amazing how much of a difference it made from the standpoint of leg and foot fatigue when standing in the kitchen for a long time. And, that was on a wood sub floor over a foundation, not a slab.

I need help with me self esteem please?

I dont know why i feel this way and how it started. I could have the best day and wake up in the morning the next day and feel depressed and down for no apparent reason. I have nothing to be down about, i have a gorgeous girl talking to me, athletic built guy, going to college, nice things and clothes, a job. yes, I find it a little strange. However, I think that people hurt themselves sometime in order to FEEL. Their emotions are numb (due to whatever cirstance they are in or whatever they are going through) and they cut/hurt themselves in order to feel something. I've have let my daughter go way overboard in the disrespect area with my husband largely because I feel guilty that her biological father is not in her life. I was driving on the interstate the other day and when I tried to accelerate it didnt go anywhere but just made a loud whirring sound. I took my foot off the gas and tried again and it did not go again. I put my hazards on and rolled down to about 15 mph. When I accelerated again it picked up and went on home with no problems. Later on when I went somewhere it did the same thing, not going into any gears this time. It was rolling fine until I came to a stop and tried to accelerate again. It didnt move. I tried changing gears and it didnt go any to any of them. When I turned the car off and on again it picked up fine for a while then started the whirring. When I stopped and tried to go it would not go. I turned it off again and it went but at15 mph it stops again and wont shift until I turn it off and on again. How can I properly prep a wall for painting after stripping wallpaper?

I have stripped vinyl wallpaper off my entire master bedroom. The vinyl top of the paper came off easily. Then I wet the paper backing and gradually scd it off with a putty knife. There was a lot of glue left on the wall which I washed off with detergent and hot water. The problem now is that in some spots I am down to the clean paper facing of the drywall and in other spots there is a hard coating (which I presume is either a primer or sizing) left on the wall. If I paint the wall as it is, all the little raised edges between where the leftover coating is and the bare drywall will show through the paint. Is there an easier way to even out the walls without skim coating everything with joint compound and sanding. That is such a big task and such a mess. I don't think I can sand the edges because I will tear up the bare drywall. Does anyone have any other solutions?

I think my dad attempted suicide?

My dad is currently being hospitalized for carbon monoxide poisoning. I found him today, at 6am, past out on the living room floor claiming to not be able to move when we got him up. We called the ambulance and it took him to the hospital. My dad has been a mechanic for 30 years so he knows about having a running vehicle in a garage, without any ventilation, is death waiting to happen. Yet the doctor says it is of carbon monoxide poisoning. He also hasn't eaten in 3 weeks, hasn't slept in 3 days, and has had chess pains for about 4 days. He doesn't drink alcohol or do any drugs. What caused him to be wasted like how I found him? The lack of sleep or the lack of food? Did he have a stroke? Plus, why would he have wanted to die? He has his dream job, does what he loves, has a family that loves him, etc.? He has never been diagnosed with depression but does get fairly depressed every so often. I Forget To Breath. A Lot! Is That Normal?

I never use to forget to breath, but recently (like the past month) I have been forgetting to breath all the time! Like I'll just be on my computer answering questions on here and I realize I haven't been breathing! I think I exhale and then never inhale! I'll be minding my own business than it's like BAM! And it's like I haven't taken a breath in a minute and my lungs feel like they are gonna collapse until I start breathing normally again. Is it normal? Can I do anything to stop this?

I feel and hear a fluttering/crackling in my ear when I am using speakers (usually a Nintendo DS when this happens). Whether or not I am using headphones seems to be irrelevant.
